Lions Square

 
     Lions Square is dedicated to the citizens of the Greater Connellsville Area. The Connellsville Lions Club had selected this community project to commemorate its 50th anniversary of service to the community.
     This community park is to be enjoyed and utilized by all. It was erected in the spirit of "giving back" to the residents of Connellsville in honor of their support of the Lions Club. Very soon the final phase of Lions Square will be completed with the total projected cost estimated to be in the neighborhood of $115,000. Once completed, the square will have a unique historic flavor, as it will feature artifacts from the Troutman building, which was recently demolished.
     The Lions Club worked with the City of Connellsville, Connellsville Redevelopment Authority and the Connellsville Historical Society to obtain items from the building. Metal window grates, window archways and lions heads from the copper facade are among the items being recycled for use at Lions Square. Bricks from the building will be used to construct the plaza walls. So far more than 285 bricks have been purchased and we are offering more! If you buy a brick engraved with your name or the name of a loved one or friend, you will ensure permanent remembrance at LIONS SQUARE PARK.
 
 
   Each brick contains only one name (no titles, rank, etc.).
 
   Bricks may include Jr., Sr., or III, if used as part of a proper name.
 
   Only 14 characters per line, and two lines per brick.
 
   "In Memory Of" or "In Honor Of" may be entered as third line above name.
 
   Bricks will be placed randomly in Lions Square walkways & become the
   property on Lions Square Inc.
 
 
   Business bricks may contain the business name only.
 
   Contributions are tax deductible.
